The most common torture techniques:
The Rack is a rectangular wood frame with two rollers placed at either end of the frame. The victims ankles would be tied to one roll while their wrists tied to the other. Throughout the interrogation a crank is twisted and tightens the tension in the chains holding the victims hands and ankles delivering excruciating pain.
The Iron Maiden was a torture device that was made up of a large iron casket with a hinged front interior and an internal space filled with spikes. Two different accounts have been made on how it was used; the first being the casket was closed slowly having the victim slowly impaled. While the other stated that the spikes on the inside of the casket were placed so they stabbed the victim in none life threatening areas, hence leaving the victim impaled inside the casket to slowly bleed out while being interrogated.
The Scavengers Daughter was a form of torture in the Elizabethan era where the victim would be essentially be placed in a ring clamp that compressed the victim in a position curled up in a ball slowly compressing them and forcing the blood to the victims brain.
